We Made It Through the First Half of 2025
Time to check in -- Let’s take a breath, reflect a little, and move forward with intention.
Namaste,
We’ve reached the halfway mark of the year.
Whether that feels thrilling, disorienting, or like a total blur — I invite you to pause with me. And let’s reflect.
In Ayurveda, reflection isn’t just a feel-good exercise — it’s part of digestion. Agni (that inner fire you’ve heard me talk about) doesn’t only process food. It metabolizes experience.
When we don’t reflect and process, things stay undigested — and eventually, they turn into Ama (that sticky, confusing buildup we all carry). And when Ama accumulates, it doesn’t just weigh us down — it can lead to a wide range of physical and psychological imbalances..
This post is your invitation to slow down and check in — with kindness and curiosity.
A Pause for Reflection
Here are five questions to help you pause, check in with yourself — and digest the past six months — what you experienced and what you’ve been carrying.
You can read through and nod, scribble answers in a notebook, or let the questions linger quietly in the back of your mind. No pressure. No performance. Just a small space to notice and take stock.
Midyear Reflection Prompts
What felt surprisingly nourishing or joyful in the past six months?
What moments or experiences felt depleting — and what did they teach you?
What’s one habit or practice that helped you feel more like yourself?
If you could carry one insight forward into the next six months, what would it be?
What’s a promise you can make to yourself for the rest of the year?
A Few of My Own Reflections:
If you could carry one insight forward into the next six months, what would it be?
I used to resist goal-setting. It felt too rigid, too forced. But now I see it differently. Setting small, manageable, and measurable goals — the kind that align with my energy, not fight against it — has changed the way I move through the day. Ayurveda has taught me that consistent, thoughtful action matters more than grand gestures. Nothing has to happen in one day. But if I keep showing up, the results add up. That’s what I want to carry forward: trust the process, and keep choosing small steps.
What’s a promise you can make to yourself for the rest of the year?
One of my teachers once said: gunas — the qualities that govern everything in our world — can be balanced through their opposites. If something feels sharp, soften it. If something feels heavy, lighten it. If the world feels dark and chaotic, that’s the time to be more grounded, more generous, more openhearted. Living in a bustling metropolis has made me a bit cynical — which offers a layer of protection, sure — but it also builds walls. So my promise is to soften where I can. To bring in more light, even when it feels inconvenient. I want to notice the good, even when it’s buried. I want to stay open, even when it’s easier to shut down. That’s the balance I’m working toward.
However the first half of your year went — it’s not the whole story. The second half is a blank canvas.
Here’s to what comes next!
P.S. Wondering what my last six months looked like? Let’s call it a personal State of the Union: I led workshops (more are on the way), guided one-on-one consultations, and kept finding new ways to make Ayurveda feel less like a mystery and more like something you can actually use. Because when it becomes personal? That’s when it really works.
That’s also why I’m launching The Deeper Practice — a space for more teaching, recipes, seasonal tools, and interactive support. Paid members get access to private chats, where I answer questions directly, explore topics you’re most curious about, and build a community that’s rooted in real, everyday Ayurveda. If you’ve been enjoying these posts and want to take things a little further, now’s the time. It’s just $8/month through July and August before it goes up to $10. Join now and see how a little more depth — and real connection — can go a long way.
