How Do You Want to Feel in 2025?
Start the New Year with Intention, Balance, and a Few Simple Steps
Namaste and Greetings!
Four days into the year, the calendar is still blank, brimming with possibility. As Melissa Kirsch of The New York Times points out, we all have the same set of days ahead of us. How we fill them, how we approach the moments that make up our lives, and what meaning we give to them is entirely up to us.

How do you want to feel in 2025?
Take a moment to write down three words that capture your vision for the year ahead. Maybe it’s calm, strong, joyful, connected, vibrant, or perhaps something like grounded, empowered, or creative—whatever feels true to you.
Now, think about what might support those feelings. This isn’t about following a checklist or doing something just because someone else says it’s a “must.” It’s about tuning into what works for you.
For example:
If calm is one of your words, you might reflect on what feels calming in your life. For me, a big part of finding calm has been rethinking my relationship with tech. I remind myself often (sometimes several times a day!) that tech exists to serve me. I don’t exist to it, answering every text or email the moment it pings or doom-scrolling endlessly. Small changes—like stepping away from devices after dinner—help me reclaim that sense of calm.
If you want to feel strong, think about what makes you feel supported and steady. For some, it could be as simple as starting the day with a grounding breakfast. For others, it might be finding a moment of stillness or movement.
For connected, ask yourself what connection looks like to you. Maybe it’s catching up with a friend, spending time in nature, or just checking in with yourself in a quiet moment.
The beauty of this exercise is that it’s entirely yours. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, and there’s no “right way” to do it. You know yourself best, and small, intentional steps can make all the difference.
What’s Coming This Month
I’m excited to kick off 2025 with posts that dive deeper into Ayurvedic wisdom and make it practical for your daily life. Here’s a little preview of what’s coming your way this month:
1. Keeping Joints Happy and Healthy in Winter
Winter is a time when many of us feel stiffness in our bodies, especially in the joints. But don’t worry—Ayurveda has some simple, effective tools to help you stay flexible and comfortable during the colder months.
If you’ve ever felt like winter slows you down, this post will be for you.
2. Understanding the Six Tastes: A New Way to Look at Food
In my last newsletter, I touched on the Ayurvedic concept of the six tastes—sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent, and astringent. But this month, we’re going deeper.
What if you could look at your meals through the lens of Ayurveda, not just for flavor but for balance? In this upcoming post, I’ll share how the six tastes influence our body and mind, and how incorporating all of them into our meals can bring harmony to our digestion, energy, and mood.

Over to You
So, what about you? How do you want to feel in 2025?
For me, my three words are healthy, connected, and intentional. I want to prioritize my health—physically, mentally, and emotionally—while staying deeply connected to the people and things that truly matter. And when it comes to being intentional, I’m challenging myself to stop living reactively and start designing my life with purpose. No more filling the days with nonsensical busywork just for the sake of feeling “productive.”
Take a moment to think about your three words. I’d love to hear what you come up with. Share your words (and how you plan to bring them to life) in the comments below.
Let’s start a conversation! Who knows, your ideas might inspire someone else—or even spark a deeper dive in future posts.
If you’re finding value in this newsletter, I’d love for you to share it with someone who might benefit from it. Sharing helps spread Ayurvedic wisdom and invites more people to join this growing community.
